Permanent methods:

Vasectomy is a male sterilization process that involves cutting off the tubes carrying sperm to the penis thus preventing sperm from entering the ejaculated fluid. It is a safe and permanent option for men who have completed their families or do not want any child in the future.

Tubal ligation is a permanent method of contraception for women where both fallopian tubes are blocked thus, preventing the passage of eggs to the uterus.

Both these methods are surgical and are performed under general anesthesia.

Fertility awareness-based methods

These methods involve effective abstain from sexual intercourse during the most fertile days of the menstrual cycle when conception is most likely to occur.
